Sadly a couple of weeks ago I had to have my wonderful Lydia put to sleep at the great age of 15. She was a wonderful girl and I was surprised at how many secret admirers she had.
Lydia was from the first litter to be born and bred in the UK.
RIP Lydia, you will never be forgotten.

Wonderful Lydia
Well my wonderful Lydia will be 15 years young on Thursday. Will try and get some photo's and a video of her in the next few days to show that a SWD can still be fit and healthy at the wonderful age of 15.
Calida and I will be going gundog training tomorrow. This will be her first time so think I've got quite a day ahead of me as she's such a character!

The Gundog Club - Hunting Retriever Grade I
Well this evening Briarlow's Nuevo Principio (Carmen) got a distinction in the Gundog Club's Hunting Retriever Grade I test.
It's a nice basic test for beginners where the dog has to walk by your side on the lead, then sit stay whilst you walk away and then do a recall. Then you have two controlled retrieves the first in short grass and the second in long grass.
Carmen for once was very calm and did a PERFECT sit stay.
She managed to achieve a distinction with a score of 77/80. Mainly failing as when she came back with her retrieves she circled me once before sitting. I am extremely proud of her and looking forward to entering the Grade II test very soon.
If you want to find out more on how you can attend the above go to www.thegundogclub.co.uk and good luck!

Anton and I went to the park today. It was absolutely beautiful here in Manchester, so took my camera out as I believe it's going to rain all weekend!

Beautiful Day
Had a great day today. The weather was beautiful and still is here in sunny Manchester. Anton and I started the day with a walk in Wythenshawe Park taking a few photo's whilst we wandered around.

Later on took the pups for a play in the next door neighbours garden which they loved. They enjoyed playing with their newfound human friends.

Latest Puppy Photo's
Beautiful Day
Well it's been a beautiful day here in sunny Manchester. Don't believe the lies it doesn't always rain here! So spent most of the morning mowing my back garden with the dogs in tow and a camera in my pocket.
So here are the results, look away if you don't like flies, ladybirds and snails. Of course there's the odd photo of a dog in here too!

Anton's Pups

Well Anton was the father of 5 pups recently. I went to see them at 6 weeks of age and really pleased with his first litter. Hoping to have a few short tailed ones as Anton is a natural bobtail but unfortunately there was only one born with a short tail.
Well done to Lisbeth and family and especially Rosita who was by my Carina and Maravilla's Cote.
